Homage to Rietveld (Sold to Germany)
description
A one-of-a-kind masterpiece! Absolute inspired by the "red and blue" chair from 1917. The floorbar reminds us on the "ZigZag" chair of 1932. So you could say that the 1917 and the 1932 chair are compiled in this one chair which we call; "Homage to Rietveld", its so obvious that there's only one designer comes to mind. It is assembled with such high craftmanship that it does not need one screw to stay so. I takes a lot of expertise to make this chair to what it is. There must have been a lot of calculating before bringing the pieces of this chair together because there are many joints with even so many strength effects. By putting only one armrest to this chair there is also a small "wink" to the Eileen Gray chair with one armrest ( black and white ) 1927. All together: A fantastic low wooden armchair which you won't see twice! The chair needs a lot of room and therefor is on its best as a "stand alone". Year: early 1960's Origin: (prob.) USA/GB. Designer: in de style of Garry Knox Bennett.
