  A.J. Kropholler side table (Sold)
description
Museumworthy piece! Made by the Dutch architect Alexander Jacobus Kropholler (1881-1973). Kropholler is mostly known for his "Brick -Architecture" in the so called Delftse school style. An improtant Dutch architect of the Delftse school was Marinus-Jan Granpré Molière. This table which is displayed on the 6th (black/white) picture of a manor in Beverwijk, is made about 1915/1916. The frame is decorated sober but with subtlety. The "square" frame, in this table design, stands on itself. The "roof", being the table top, is supported by two "beams" if it where a roof of a building. These two "stand alone" parts, brought together, form this fabulous piece of craftsmanship. Year: 1915-1916. Origin: Dutch.
