  Dutch modernist desk (Sold)
description
Lovely and rather fragile wall desk (secretaire) from the 1930's designed by P.E.L. Izeren. P.E.L. Izeren was working for "de Genneper Molen, being a small furniture factory, from 1929 untill 1938. P.E.L. Izeren was known for his well-designed and balanced furniture. We have restored this desk while retaining its authenticity. So the old scratches, discolorations and user marks are still showing. This wall desk is designed in the so called "Haagse Stijl" or New Pragmatism. There are 3 drawers wit black handles. On the right outer side there is a small integrated bookcase. The up- and downpart of the desk is finished with a black pickled border. In the working space there a small slat been attached behind which (for instant) postcards can be placed. All together a lovely exemple of Dutch modernism from the early 1930's. Dimensions: W x D x H = 95 x 60 x 97 cm. Origin: Dutch. Year: about 1933.
