name
  Tubular Deck Chair
description
Very rare tubular slingseat deck chair from the late 1930's. This large version can be folded into a thin package so it is easy to be stored away. The thin wooden armrests are covered with black rubber. On the front and back the armrests are closed with small pieces of bakelite. The original blue "iron yarn" slingseat is in a very good condition. On the backside the slingseat is laced to one-another by a thick (new) white cord. The seating position can't be secured: so it is a seating- or lying down position. Because of its dimensions, in upright position, (displayed on the 2nd picture - L x B x H = 115 x 62 x 120 cm ) this chair needs some room to come to its best! Fabulous pre-war design. Year: late 1930's. Origin: Problably German or Dutch.
