Chris Hoffmann
If there is anything that's an absolute "must see" then it is this rare side table. Nicely designed tubular metal frame with elegant feet. At first sight you think it is France of origin but it is not. It is a Dutch Design sold by Bas van Pelt and Gispen. Because it is designed by Hoffmann it is only published in a early Gispen catalog. Researching this table we came to notice that it is displayed on a picture in the book "Serieproducten 1923-1960" by André Koch, page 4 on the upper left side. This table is published in the catalog from Gispen "Cat. 0/1-4 April 1949". Serial type: no. 526 / 527. Publicist André Koch himself gave us this information. Designed by Christopher (Chris) Hoffmann (1893-1985) Mr. Hoffman was from 1918 the head of the Gispen drawing room and soon enough became the right hand of W. H. Gispen. When W. H. Gispen himself left the company in 1949 Chris Hoffmann would determine the designs from that point on. This lovely table is a perfect example of that. The two glass plates are original and cut facet. Year: 1949/50. Origin: Dutch
Enameled metal frame and hardened glass.
  Very good.
