  Fantastic and sober designed side table by the Ducth interior- and furniture designer Willem Penaat (1875-1957). The wooden cross is made of Jacaranda and Wengé. Its form is typical for the so called "Haagse School" style. The hardened- and hand made Saint-Gobain glass top is about 2.2 cm of thickness. The side of the glassplate is polytoured clear so you can almost see the whole "inner" of the glass. All together a clear cut design of the 1920's. Origin: Dutch. Dimensions: glass plate: Dia75 x thickness2.2 cm and foot: L52.5 x W52.5 x H38 cm. Year: about 1925.
