name
  Dutch stadium seat of honnor
description
Very rare stadium seat coming from the former stadium of Willem II beïng a Dutch soccer club. This stadium was made in 1924 by the Dutch architect Jan van der Valk. It is most likely that these chairs where manufactured by a subcontracted party but within the style of the tribune. Jan van der Valk began te work according the art nouveau style which he gradually intermingled with a more expressionistic style. He also used style patterns of the Amsterdamse school and the new pragmatism of the De Stijl. This chair is one of the few leftovers from the "seats of honnor" from the original stadium of the club. It has a Spartan and simple appearance which was acustomed for outdoor furniture in 1930's. We are still researching the designer/manufacturer of the chair. Year: late 1920's. Origin: Dutch
